What is Kayaking and Canoeing?

This course is designed to teach basic kayaking and canoeing skills and water safety to those with little to no experience.

Our goal is to help you feel more confident in the water, which also makes being in the water more fun! You will learn to properly enter and exit a kayak/canoe in order to avoid tipping it over, basic strokes to steer you through the water, and how paddling from different parts of the boat affects its movement.

The introductory course is not a qualification to instruct or lead people in a kayak or canoe. It is suitable for beginners to those with considerable experience who wish to improve on skills/techniques.

Our instructors have all been certified to teach water sports, so they are very knowledgeable with regards to the different techniques and may even have some personal tips to help you succeed. Below is a guideline to what you will be learning on our course.
